CDL-A driver recruiting for OTR carriers
Put a driver in every seat.
A parked truck still has a note, an insurance bill and a trailer waiting on it. We find and screen CDL-A drivers for small and mid-size carriers across the U.S., so you only talk to drivers who fit the job and your insurance.
- $0 upfrontNo retainer, no setup fee.
- Pay after week oneWe invoice once the driver has worked a full week.
- 30-day replacementIf the driver leaves, the next one is on us.
Who we are
Seat the Fleet is a small recruiting team that works for carriers. We don't sell job-board ads or applicant lists. We look for CDL-A drivers, check them against your requirements, and introduce you only to the ones worth an interview.
We work with interstate carriers running over-the-road freight, from a few trucks to about a hundred, in every state.
How it works
Three steps. You stay in charge of who gets hired.
-
You tell us the job
Lanes, home time, pay, equipment and your insurance requirements. An email is enough to get started.
-
We find and screen drivers
We look for drivers with experience hauling your kind of freight and screen out anyone who doesn't fit, before you ever hear about them.
-
You interview the finalists
You pay only after a driver completes their first week. If they leave within 30 days, we replace them at no cost.
What we check before you meet anyone
Most hiring headaches show up after the interview: the insurer says no, or the driver quits at orientation. We check for those first.
- A valid CDL-AClass, endorsements and expiration date.
- Your insurer's rulesMinimum age, years of CDL-A experience, MVR limits.
- Driving record and work historyViolations, accidents, recent employers and why the driver left.
- English for the roadEnough to get through a roadside inspection. Since June 2025, drivers who can't are placed out of service.
- The real job, up frontMiles, home time, equipment and pay, so nobody quits at orientation over a surprise.
- Experience with your freightDrivers who have already run the equipment and loads you haul.
As the employer, you still run your own hiring steps: application, drug test, Clearinghouse query and road test. We make sure the drivers who get that far are worth your time.

Questions
What kind of carriers do you work with?
Interstate carriers running OTR freight, mostly small and mid-size fleets. Dry van, reefer, flatbed or something else: tell us what you run, and we'll look for drivers who have hauled it.
How long does it take to fill a seat?
It depends on your lanes, pay, home time and insurance requirements. Once we see the job, we'll tell you honestly what to expect.
What if a driver doesn't work out?
If a driver leaves within 30 days of starting, we find a replacement at no cost.
Do you recruit team drivers?
Yes. A team of two drivers is $1,500, paid after the team's first week.
Is there a minimum number of hires?
No. Tell us about one open seat or ten. You pay only for drivers you actually hire.
